What's Hyperiums Launcher
? |
It's a java utility that analyses
Hyperiums data and displays them graphically. It also has a planet
search engine, a fleet calculator and some other features. It only
uses public informations provided by DaGod, so you don't need to
enter your login and your password. |
|
Before launching Hyperiums
Watcher for the first time : |
Please check you have a JVM
properly installed. If you don't know what it is, follow this instructions
: |
- go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html
- click on DOWNLOAD in the JRE column,
at the row corresponding to your plateform
- accept the term of the license by clicking
on the ACCEPT button
- click on the link "Download j2re",
the filesize should be displayed just after this link (FYI it's
around 10Mb for Windows plateform)
- install the downloaded file
|
then your system should be able
to start Hyperiums Watcher. |
|
How to launch Hyperiums
Watcher ?
|
On Windows
plateform, you can use the hw.bat
script or simply click on hw.jar
(but in that case, you may have some memory size troubles). |
On Linux plateform, you can
use the hw.sh script. |
|
Directory
contents : |
planets
contains the daily planetlists updated by DaGod.
Each file in this directory must follow this pattern : planets-YYYYMMDD.txt |
players
contains the daily planetlists updated by DaGod. |
maps
contains the daily jpeg maps updated by DaGod. |
data
contains generated files
that you shouldn't edit. At the first launch of HW, a file is generated
for each day. If you're installing a new version of HW, it's better
to not re-use this files. |
|
Warning : |
Do not try to stop Hyperiums
Watcher before it has downloaded the seven files (planetlist, playerlist
and the jpeg maps), i.e before its main window is appeared. If there
are some network troubles, please check there's no incomplete file
before restarting HW. |
|
How to use it : |
Here are information about the less intuitive features
: |
- the delta information is the number of tag
switches between two alliance groups. Delta0 is between
red group and green group, delta1 is between green group and
blue group and delta2 is between blue group and red group.
- you're always able to zoom in and out on
any map or any graph by using the mouse wheel,
whatever the mouse mode is (select/move/zoom). In fact, I've
added the mouse modes especially for those who don't have a
wheel on their mouse.
- there's a contextual menu (with right mouse
button click) on the result table of the search engine, which
can add an alliance to one of the three alliance groups.
- there's the same contextual menu on the alliance
ranking table.
- there's also a contextual menu on the blackholes
table, which gives you the ability to see the history of the
blackholed planet.
|
I think the other features are quite easy to use and
don't need real explanations. |
